Canoe Polo Teams
EYCC have two polo teams. We have a full sized polo pitch on the pond as well as a full fleet of polo boats and kit including Junior kit.
The Mariners and The East Yorkshire Otters.
The Mariners are our first team and complete in the higher leagues both locally and nationally. The Otters are our 2nd team who compete in Yorkshire and Humber Division 3. The Otters is used as a development team for bringing on new members and junior players.
What is Canoe Polo?
Canoe polo is played by teams of 5 players and up to 3 substitutes. The game requires excellent team work and promotes both general canoeing skills as well as a range of other techniques unique to the sport.
Two teams compete to score goals in their opponents net which are suspended 2 metres above the water. The ball can be thrown by hand or flicked with the paddle.

If you fancy trying canoe polo then we are the club for you! We are always looking for new players regardless of experience. Simply come down to one of the pond sessions on a Saturday morning and ask for Alan Neal (HDCC Polo Rep) or Heather Kennedy (Otters Captain).
The club has plenty of polo kit that can be borrowed in order to get you started
